Now that the holiday shopping is over, it's time for returns. Sometimes the process can be challenging.
The National Retailer Foundation estimates that consumers will return almost $850 billion worth of merchandise this year. Returning products is even more common for online shoppers. While returns have become a regular part of shopping, policies vary from store-to-store, making refunds a challenge at times. The NY State Division of Consumer Protection reminds people that laws are in place that protect them. Consumers having difficulty obtaining a refund are encouraged to file a complaint with the New York State Division of Consumer Protection.
