A peculiar ice rescue was made on Lake Champlain near the town of Crown Point according to police.
The Essex County Sheriff’s Office requested Forest Ranger assistance recently with an ice rescue on Lake Champlain. Reportedly a 33-year-old from Montreal was living on a sailboat moored in the lake near the town of Crown Point. The cold weather caused ice to form, locking the boat in place more than a mile from shore. Rangers used an airboat to reach the stranded subject and transport them to shore.
