The numbers are in from the 4th of July Holiday enforcement campaign by New York State Police.
State Troopers from Troop B issued nearly 1200 tickets in the North Country during the Independence Day Holiday special traffic enforcement program. Most were for speeding, that totaled 432 and was followed by the Move Over Law at 81. State Police report issuing nearly 10,500 tickets statewide during the enforcement campaign. Troopers arrested 210 people for DWI and investigated 716 crashes, including five fatal motor vehicle crashes. The special enforcement period began last Thursday and concluded on Sunday.
