Lake Champlain froze over for the first time in 7 years according data from the National Weather Service.

Lake Champlain has frozen over according to the National Weather Service office in Burlington; the weather service declared the lake officially closed last Friday.  They say some gaps or cracks may remain, but the "broad lake" is covered.  The closed status was based on satellite imagery, and aerial reports.  Weather service data suggests the last time Lake Champlain froze over was seven years ago.
