This year the NY State Police wrote more tickets over the holiday weekend than last year.
The NY State Police reports that more than 12,000 tickets were issued statewide during the Memorial Day Weekend enforcement campaign. In the North Country, Troop B wrote well over 1100 tickets. The special enforcement period began on Friday and ran through Monday. Troopers arrested 245 people for DWI and investigated 774 crashes, with three fatal crashes reported. This year’s campaign saw an increase of over a thousand tickets vs last year according to State Police.
