A multi-agency search continues in the North Country for a man wanted in a homicide investigation.
The search continues for a man wanted in a homicide investigation who is believed to still be in the Gabriels, Paul Smiths area of Franklin County. The search is led by the NY State Police but includes other agencies such as the U.S. Marshals Task Force and the Northern Regional Special Response Team. They’re looking for Anthony Bechand who is described as a white man, 5’11”, 180 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair. Police are asking for individuals with trail cameras, or security cameras in the area to contact the State Police if any unusual or suspicious activity is seen. Additionally, the U.S. Marshals are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to determining Bechand’s location. The search began on September 14th when a pick-up was driving was located abandoned at the intersection of Route 60 and 86 in the town of Brighton.
