The public is invited to the opening ceremony of Champlain's new fire station on Rte. 9 Friday afternoon.
A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the New Champlain Fire Station on Route 9 will take place this Friday at noon. Champlain Fire District Commissioner, Chris Trombley, said the idea for a new facility started a decade ago and the original plan was an addition on the Elm Street Station. After years of planning what resulted is the new station on route 9. Trombley said the community is invited to join the Friday noontime gathering and will have a chance to tour the new fire station following the ribbon cutting.
