The Master of Social Work program is a new offering and and has already received accreditation.
The idea of a master’s in social work program at SUNY Plattsburgh was hatched in 2023 and received a boost when it was announced that the College of St. Rose in Albany, was closing. College officials say SUNY Plattsburgh immediately led the charge to sign a formal teach-out agreement with St. Rose, helping its students complete their programs of study without requiring them to do more work than they would have finishing their degree at St. Rose. The Plattsburgh State accreditation, received last month, follows the approval of the program a year ago.
