A recruitment effort by the University of Vermont Health Network yielded six medical providers for area.
The National Rural Health Association says only about 10 percent of providers practice in rural communities like the North Country. Medical provider shortages continue to challenge the area. A recent intensive recruitment effort by the University of Vermont Health Network was able to attract just six new providers to Northern NY according to information sent by the Media Relations department. Nine more were added in Vermont. All 15 represent a variety of specialties officials at the health network reported.
