The State launched a second round of "NY Swims" funding in the statewide pool improvement program.
$53 million dollars in capital grants is available to municipalities and nonprofit organizations to expand access to safe swimming facilities across the state. However, nearly half of that money, $25 Million, is reserved for projects in underserved communities, ensuring equitable access to safe swimming. NY SWIMS provides matching grants for the construction, renovation and improvement of swimming pools and natural swimming areas. To date, the program has awarded nearly $150 million dollars to 37 projects.
