The New York Farm Bureau outlined some policy positions at the annual convention last week.
At the annual New York Farm Bureau convention last week delegates voted on several policy positions. One of the positions that has caught the public’s attention concerns the land application of biosolids. While the Farm Bureau does generally support DEC testing to determine if biosolids are free of heavy metals and “forever” toxins, farm bureau officials say the policy position of the group remains a work in progress. The New York Farm Bureau will release a full list of legislative priorities in January.
