The State Comptroller is warning that the proposed Executive Budget may outspend expected revenue.
The state comptroller is warning that the proposed Executive Budget is estimated to increase spending at a rate faster than expected revenues. Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli says the State Division of Budget reports that this rate of spending will create a cumulative outyear budget gap of 27.5 billion through fiscal year 2030. He says as negotiations commence in Albany policymakers need to proceed with caution while balancing the budget, improving affordability and maintaining vital services for New Yorkers.
