NY Crops rely on the presence of pollinators. So, the Agriculture department offers pollinator protections.
Since 2015, the state has taken several steps to promote honeybee health and better protect pollinators statewide. State agencies have reduced or altered mowing practices to avoid disruptions to pollinators and planted pollinator friendly trees and flowers in landscaping. Nearly $470 million dollars worth of crops grown in NY each year rely on pollinator services.
