Racehorse Study

New York will pay $20 million for a study by Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine on racehorse injuries.

The New York State racehorse study, funded by the state and The New York Racing Association, seeks to build upon previous research with a goal of preventing fatal musculoskeletal injuries.  The State is investing $18 million over the next three years and NYRA has donated $2 million toward the purchase of advanced imaging equipment at Cornell.  The results of the study will be published in peer-reviewed periodicals and presented at veterinary research conferences.
