The City of Plattsburgh is conducting a feasibility study regarding the underutilized waterfront space.
The little used Sailor’s Beach is located just southeast of the U.S. Oval and near the mouth of the Saranac River. The Park is located within walking distance of downtown. However, according to the city, the area is difficult to access and lacks essential infrastructure. To initiate the Sailor’s Beach Improvements Feasibility Study, a project website and an Online Survey have been launched. In addition, a visioning workshop will be held for those interested in the project on September 9th from 5pm to 7pm at the new Melissa Penfield Park Community Room.
