The Whiteface Mountain ski area has not closed yet but operators are taking a short pause this week.

The Whiteface Mountain ski area has not closed for the season yet, but management reports the operation is taking a short pause through Thursday. According to the resort website, the plan is to re-open Friday and Saturday weather and conditions permitting. Currently, the Whiteface snow report shows a base depth of 16 to 28 inches. A decision on the final call for skiing is expected later this week.
