Springtime is the start of allergy season for many in our area.
As plants bloom in New York, people are beginning to deal with seasonal allergies. At least 25-percent of the state’s adult population and more than 100-million people nationwide have seasonal allergies. Allergies can also harm other respiratory illnesses such as asthma. This can lead to higher emergency department visits. Doctor Gregory Carnevale with UnitedHealthcare says there are ways to reduce how pollen gets into a person’s house such as closing windows and washing heavy drapes. (Public News Service)
