The five day Battle of Plattsburgh commemoration starts tomorrow with "Free Film Night" at Regal.
The first event of this years Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration is a free showing of “The Final Invasion" at Regal Champlain Centre. The film is a 2001 PBS documentary created by local filmmaker Bruce Carlin and produced by historian and retired Army Colonel David Fitz-Enz. Carlin said he hopes viewers will get a sense of the challenge Americans faced and said although the battle was a major victory by the Americans it should be commemorated and not celebrated. A free showing of “The Final Invasion” at the Regal Champlain Centre takes place tomorrow night at 7pm as the kickoff event of the Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration that runs through the weekend.
