A new state law establishes a traffic safety memorial sign program on New York State roads
The new law memorializes the victims of fatal vehicle collisions. The legislation is named in honor of Assemblyman Robert Smullen’s late son, Alexander John Smullen, who passed away days after being hit by a car. Assemblyman Smullen, whose district includes parts of the Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks, said now that the legislation has been signed into law, he is eager to see it implemented statewide.
