Several agencies came together to rescue a Peru, NY resident who was injured at Split Rock Falls.
Essex County 911 received a call for help after a 50-year-old from Peru, NY fell at Split Rock Falls. The hiker suffered head and back injuries. Forest Rangers worked with New York State Police and the Keene and North Hudson Fire Departments to complete a high-angle rope rescue. Once they reached the hiker, preparations were made for Life Net to fly the patient to the hospital. Rangers have conducted 139 search and rescue missions between January and the start of July this year.
