While it's been said that imitation is the best form of flattery, stealing intellectual property is quite another thing altogether.
I speak with a degree of bias when I write this message, but I wholeheartedly feel that we have a great local radio station. We have an incredible team of professionals who work hard on a daily basis to make sure that you're entertained and informed about what's going on in the Champlain Valley and the North Country.
Every day, we bring you a curated playlist of music that we truly think you love. Our dynamic team works hard every day to make what you hear on your radio, smart speaker, smart phone, etc. is truly great. As the person who is so privileged to oversee this operation, I'm honored to have every single one of the people you hear on 106.3 NBZ-FM on our staff, and respect their contributions to the station. One feels a duty to act when they, or their work, is disrespected. Unfortunately, that has occurred.
We've been made aware that content made available for free to you on WNBZ.com has been scraped from our website and put behind a paywall on a particular website. We did not consent to that, nor would we given the circumstances. Why charge you a monthly subscription for something we provide for free? It just doesn't make any sense to us. With economic headwinds as they are, why would we want to charge you, or any of our listeners, a single red cent for what we do? We aren't going to. Why would we be complicit with someone attempting to do that with our stolen content? Well, we're not.
Should you happen to spot anything that seems as glaring as what we've been alerted to, kindly let us know by emailing piracy@wnbz.com. Your report can remain anonymous, if you so wish.
