Plattsburgh, NY — Thu, April 2, 2026 — A new radio program focused on personal growth, accountability, and real-life change is coming to the North Country. Transformative Paths, hosted by educator and facilitator Wanda J. Carroll, will debut as a weekly public service program on 106.3 NBZ-FM beginning Saturday, April 4th at 5:00 a.m. The program will air each Saturday morning, bringing meaningful conversations directly to listeners across Clinton, Essex, and Franklin counties.

At its core, Transformative Paths is designed to serve the community by offering accessible, thoughtful discussions on topics that impact everyday life—stress, relationships, communication, decision-making, and personal responsibility.

A Public Service for Everyday Challenges

In a region where access to resources can sometimes be limited by geography, time, or stigma, Transformative Paths aims to provide a consistent and approachable space for reflection and learning.

“This program is about meeting people where they are,” said Carroll. “Not everyone seeks out support or has access to services, but many people are navigating stress, relationship challenges, or difficult life transitions. If we can bring these conversations into their everyday routines, even in a small way, that can make a difference.”

The early Saturday morning time slot offers a quiet opportunity for listeners to start their weekend with intention—whether driving to work, beginning their day, or simply taking a moment to reflect.

Blending Expert Voices with Real-Life Experience

Episodes feature a combination of expert guests and real-world perspectives. Guests include professionals in trauma, healthcare, counseling, leadership, and behavioral health, alongside individuals who share lived experiences of change and growth.

Topics explored on the program include:

  • How stress and trauma affect the body and decision-making
  • Recognizing patterns that shape behavior and relationships
  • Building stronger communication and emotional awareness
  • Learning how to pause before reacting in difficult moments
  • Moving from guilt and shame toward accountability and growth

The goal is to offer not just insight, but practical tools listeners can apply in their daily lives.

Local Voice, Broader Impact

Carroll, who teaches at SUNY Plattsburgh, brings both academic and real-world experience to the program. She also serves as the lead facilitator of the PACT (Personal Accountability Changing Tomorrows) program at Behavioral Health Services North (BHSN), where she works directly with individuals on behavior change, accountability, and building healthier patterns.

Her background includes frontline work as a crisis responder and advocate, supporting individuals through difficult and often life-altering situations.

“This work has always been about people,” Carroll said. “The radio just allows us to reach more of them.”

A Unique Voice on the Airwaves

In addition to her work in education and behavioral health, Carroll brings a strong background in performance and media. She studied opera performance and piano, recorded with EMI Records, and has voiced radio commercials across the country. She also spent eight seasons singing the National Anthem for the San Antonio Spurs and has performed for several other professional sports organizations.

That blend of experience shapes the tone of Transformative Paths—grounded, conversational, and accessible to a wide audience.

Building Connection Across the North Country

By bringing Transformative Paths to radio, 106.3 NBZ-FM is expanding access to programming that supports not just entertainment, but personal reflection and community well-being.

“This is about connection,” Carroll added. “If someone hears something that helps them pause, think differently, or make a better choice in a hard moment—that matters. And that’s what this program is here to do.”

Available to Stations as a Public Service

In addition to its debut on 106.3 NBZ-FM, Transformative Paths is being made available to other radio stations as a public service program at no cost. Stations interested in adding meaningful, community-focused programming to their lineup can air the program free of charge, making it easy to bring thoughtful conversations on personal growth, accountability, and everyday life challenges to a broader audience.
