[RESOLVED] You may hear our "something has gone wrong" audio instead of what you'd hear on 106.3 FM. Here's how to make sure your listening experience is uninterrupted.
*** UPDATE *** April 19, 2025
This issue appears to be resolved. Nonetheless, if you do encounter issues, the guide below exists to help you through.
Yesterday, we started getting reports that when listening to the live stream you'd hear the audio that we have set up in the background to automatically play if we were having technical issues. The issue seemed to be corrected, but we are still getting reports of this happening. The issue seems to be intermittent.
From what we're able to tell, the only stream that is impacted is the mobile optimized 48kbps stream. That is the only one playing the "something has gone wrong" audio. The full quality 192kbps audio is not impacted.
That being said, we're still working on correcting the issue. In the meantime, there are ways to make sure your listening experience is not interrupted. Here's what you can do based on how you'd be listening to NBZ-FM.
FM Radio
The audio on 106.3 FM is not impacted.
Web Browser
Be sure you're listing to the stream that's embedded in our player at wnbz.com/player. Tap the link to launch our Live and On-Demand streams.
Alexa
It appears that the Alexa Radio Skills Kit is impacted, and TuneIn Radio may or may not be impacted. However, our Alexa Skill is not impacted. Be sure you enable the 106.3 NBZ-FM Skill by saying "Alexa, enable one oh six point three NBZ-FM Skill." Subsequently, when you want to play the NBZ-FM Skill once enabled, simply say "Alexa, play one oh six point three NBZ-FM Skill."
Tip: You'll know you've invoked the right skill because Alexa will say "Welcome to 106.3 NBZ-FM," then tell you who is on air, then play one of our jingles.
The 106.3 NBZ-FM App
Launch the App, then enter the settings menu, then select that you prefer the highest quality audio, as you see below. After that, fully close the App and re-open it.
