Amazon to Train Humanoid Robots for Delivery Service

Amazon is reportedly working on training humanoid robots to assist in its delivery operations, potentially riding in the company's fleet of electric vans to drop off packages. The Information, via the Guardian and the Verge, revealed that Amazon is constructing a "humanoid park" obstacle course in San Francisco to test this technology. While Amazon plans to use robots from other manufacturers like Unitree in China, the company is also developing its own AI software for these robots. Subramanian Ramamoorthy, chair of robot learning at the University of Edinburgh, cautioned that challenges may arise in more complex and varied environments outside of controlled settings, such as dealing with pets and children during deliveries.
