As Guinness World Records marks its 70th anniversary, the organization is inviting the public to attempt 70 unclaimed record titles. These range from the fastest 400-meter sack race to the farthest distance to bounce a coin into a cup. The very first Guinness Book of World Records was compiled and published on August 27, 1955. To commemorate the milestone, Guinness is launching a new Record Selector quiz to match aspiring record-breakers with appropriate challenges based on their skills and interests. According to Guinness World Records Editor-in-Chief Craig Glenday, the goal is to engage the "current and next generation of record-breakers" and encourage broad participation in documenting extraordinary human achievements. The 70 open titles are now available for the taking by anyone who dares to pursue them. (UPI)
