An Ohio police officer allegedly responded to a 911 call while intoxicated, with the incident captured on video by the reporting couple. Michael Ervin, the responding officer, was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.168% - over double the legal limit. The couple, Mr. Brand and Mrs. Lewis, immediately noticed Ervin was "staggering and stumbling" as he approached their home. They called dispatch to express concerns about the officer's condition. Additional officers arrived shortly after and Ervin was relieved of duty, later terminated by the department on August 25th. The mayor stated the department has a zero-tolerance policy for such behavior, which could have resulted in a dangerous situation had the impaired officer been driving. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with no charges filed yet against Ervin. (Fox 19)
