Religious School Bans Singing Of ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Songs

Lilliput Church Of England Infant School in the UK prohibited students from singing songs from Netflix's hit film KPop Demon Hunters due to religious objections. Acting head teacher Lloyd Allington sent parents a message Friday stating some community members feel "deeply uncomfortable" with demon references because they "associate them with spiritual forces opposed to God and goodness." The school asked parents to discourage children from singing the songs "out of respect for those who find the themes at odds with their faith." One atheist parent called the ban "ridiculous" and "unfair," noting his daughter and friends perform the songs at after-school clubs. After receiving parent feedback highlighting positive messages about teamwork and courage in songs like the UK number one single "Golden," Allington now says the school wants to respect diverse beliefs.
