Walhampton School seeks public help finding Bradford Bear, a teddy that fell from the stratosphere during a student science project. Seventh and eighth grade students launched the stuffed toy via weather balloon, working with Southampton University Spaceflight Society on November 10. Onboard cameras captured Bradford reaching 16.7 miles altitude above Henley-on-Thames before breaking free from his position. The bear was expected to parachute safely to Basingstoke with other equipment but likely landed between Earley and Fawley instead. Science teacher Ellie Robinson told the BBC that Bradford did "amazingly" and reassured students "he is very brave and resourceful." The school posted on social media: "If you have any information regarding his whereabouts, no matter how small, please let us know. Video footage or any details would be hugely appreciated."
