Topps is releasing a new collectible card showcasing an unlikely baseball star - a squirrel that ran onto the field during a Yankees-Red Sox game. The furry intruder briefly halted play in the fourth inning at Yankee Stadium as it approached pitcher Max Fried on the mound. "That's the first time it's happened to me," Fried told MLB.com, adding that his initial instinct was to avoid embarrassment. The squirrel and Fried engaged in a brief stare-down before the animal scurried to the foul zone and disappeared through the outfield fence. Although the squirrel failed to achieve "rally squirrel" status - the Yankees went on to lose 1-0 - Topps quickly unveiled a new Topps Now card featuring photos of the surprise field invader. Dubbed "It's nuts! Furry friend takes mound at Yankee Stadium," the $8.99 card had already sold out by Monday. (Story URL)
