A North Carolina jury has ordered TikTok star Brenay Kennard to pay $1.75 million to Akira Montague for breaking up her marriage. The verdict included $1.5 million for alienation of affection and $250,000 for criminal conversation, which refers to adultery. Kennard, who has 3 million TikTok followers, represented herself and denied having sex with Timothy Montague during his marriage. She told jurors: "This was a marriage that had been falling apart for years." Akira Montague's attorney said Kennard "flaunted her relationship" with Timothy Montague online. Evidence included social media videos where Kennard said she was "getting down and dirty in the sheets" and called Timothy Montague "worth it" despite legal troubles. The jury deliberated under two hours. Supporters cheered "Team A-kira!" after the ruling. North Carolina is one of six states allowing such lawsuits. (Story URL)
