In 2024, scammers stole a record $16.6 billion, a 33% increase from 2023, with over a quarter million complaints and an average loss of $19,000. Ransomware posed the greatest threat, with a 9% rise in complaints, and those over 60 reported the most losses, totaling $4.8 billion. Investment scams led to over $6.5 billion in losses. A report by the American Lung Association reveals that over 156 million Americans are breathing in dangerous levels of air pollutants, with soot and smog causing serious health issues. People of color are disproportionately affected, with Latino Americans at highest risk. Extreme weather events like heatwaves and wildfires also worsen pollution levels. (The Guardian)


The White House is considering proposals to increase the nation's birth rate, including a $5,000 "baby bonus" for new mothers. President Trump has expressed support for the idea, and the administration is focusing on policies to support American families. Vice President J.D.
