President Trump ordered 2,000 National Guardsmen to Los Angeles due to violent clashes between protestors and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducting raids. White House Press Secretary Leavitt said the raids were essential to halt "the invasion of illegal criminals" and criticized California's "feckless Democrat leaders" for not protecting citizens. A salmonella outbreak linked to a recall of 1.7 million eggs has sickened 79 people across 7 states. The August Egg Company recalled the organic and cage-free eggs distributed between February and May due to potential salmonella contamination. At least 21 people have been hospitalized. The CDC advises consumers to discard the recalled eggs. (CBS News)


A twin-engine propeller plane carrying 20 people crashed near a Tennessee airport on Sunday, causing only minor injuries. The plane, a de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter, was carrying skydivers when it crashed shortly after takeoff from Tullahoma Airport. At least 3 people were airlifted to hospitals, while the rest were evaluated on-site. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the FAA. (ABC News)


A runaway pet zebra named Ed escaped in Tennessee and became an internet sensation. Ed was on the loose for over a week before being captured safely on Sunday. Authorities used a helicopter to airlift the zebra and return him to his owner. Ed was spotted running along the interstate, forcing road closures, and was filmed trotting through neighborhoods. Tropical Storm Barbara is strengthening off the southwest coast of Mexico and expected to become a hurricane. Barbara was located 205 miles southwest of Zihuatanejo, with maximum winds of 60 mph. No coastal watches or warnings were issued. Heavy rainfall could lead to flooding and mudslides in some Mexican states, and swells could produce dangerous surf and rip currents. (AP)
