Have you ever wondered who they Channel 3 Meterologists are?  Well... wonder no more!

Gary Sadowsky

Gary Sadowsky was born and grew up in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, where the blizzards rage in the winter and tornadoes twirl in the summer.

His first degree was in Philosophy from the University of Minnesota.

After years as a bicycle shop manager, he decided to pursue his true professional passion - the weather! He attended Lyndon State College in Lyndonville and received his B.S. degree in Meteorology.

Gary started at WCAX in 1992 as the weekend weathercaster. In 1995, he moved to 11:00 PM weekdays. And when the Channel 3 Early Morning News was launched in 1997, Gary - a natural "nightowl," was chosen to begin everyone else's day with a smile and a forecast!

After 26 years on the morning news, Gary was named Chief Meteorologist in the spring of 2023 and was "time-shifted 12 hours into the future" to be a part of the evening news teams.

Gary holds the prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society and the Seal of Approval for TV and Radio from the National Weather Association.

Gary enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid bicyclist and runner. He has ridden ten "centuries" (100-mile bike rides), run four complete marathons and countless half-marathons.

Dave Busch

Dave's hometown is Warwick, New York. After high school, he worked as a carpenter (Busch Contracting) for five years. Now, carpentry is just a hobby... his true love is weather. "My family encouraged me to go for Meteorology... I'll always appreciate the love and support they've given me," Dave says. Ever since he was a kid, he would always go outside on his porch during a thunderstorm and just gaze at the sky.

Dave attended the University of Oklahoma for 4 years, where he earned a bachelor degree in Meteorology. He enjoyed chasing tornadoes, and got to see at least two of them. He also volunteered as a Meteorologist on Norman News, owned and operated by the University of Oklahoma. It was then that Dave realized he wanted to be a TV Meteorologist.

After the University of Oklahoma, he spent one year at the New England School of Communications in Bangor, Maine, earning a Certificate in Broadcasting in May 2000, along with being awarded Student of The Year. In August 2000, he began working at WCAX-TV as the weekend Meteorologist. In April 2001, he began working some weekdays in the production department, working Master Control for 15 years, in addition to doing the weekend weather.

Dave married the love of his life, Katherine, in August 2010, and they have two children, Sam and Abby. Dave and "Kat" are huge fans of vintage appliances and love to visit antique stores, flea markets and yard sales hoping to find some treasures. Dave also loves gardening and cooking. Being the proud owner of more than 6,000 cookbooks and magazines, there's always something interesting cooking in the kitchen!

Peter Kvietkauskas

Peter joined the team in August of 2023.

Prior to coming to the Green Mountain State, Peter worked as the Morning Meteorologist at Northern News Now in Duluth, Minnesota.

Peter is a New England native born and raised in Eastern Connecticut. He is thrilled to be working here in Vermont now.

Peter earned a B.S. in Atmospheric Science and an A.S. in Broadcast and Digital Journalism from Northern Vermont University - Lyndon. During that time, he interned right here at WCAX.

In addition to being a proud weather nerd, Peter is also a proud news and current events nerd.

When Peter is not at work, you will find him exploring the outdoor sights and scenes the Green Mountain State offers.

Jess Langlois

A New Englander to her core, Jess Langlois was born and raised in southern New Hampshire, where she developed a love for weather in elementary school. By 4th grade, she was obsessed with the Weather Channel, spending hours staring at radar loops and recording her favorite Local on the 8s songs on a tape recorder.

Jess went on to earn a B.S. in Atmospheric Science and an A.S. in Broadcast and Digital Journalism from Northern Vermont University - Lyndon. During that time, she interned at WCVB-TV in Boston and right here at WCAX.

Jess started her career at WQOW-TV in Eau Claire, WI as a meteorologist and multimedia journalist before joining the team at WCAX. During her time in Wisconsin, she covered all of the extremes the Midwest has to offer, including several tornadoes. She became WCAX's First at Four Meteorologist in June 2021. You will see her out in the field or filling in during other newscasts too.

Outside of work, Jess loves spending time outdoors immersing herself in New England's natural beauty. She loves cooking and trying new restaurants and recipes. She is obsessed with her 15-year-old cat named Frisky. Jess also loves music and the performing arts.
