The Adirondack Land Trust has purchased 2,390 acres in the Essex County town of Chesterfield for permanent conservation. The Drake Mountain property includes forests, ponds, streams and wetlands, and will eventually be transferred to New York State for public recreation, including hiking, hunting and birdwatching.
