Chateaugay Wind Project Receives Final Permit

New York has issued a final siting permit for the 116.5-megawatt Chateaugay Wind Project in Franklin and Clinton counties. Older turbines will be replaced with fewer, more efficient units. The project is expected to power about 21,000 homes and begin operating in 2029.

Police say 39 year old Albert Gjonbalaj of Lake Placid was arrested July 28 after he and guests allegedly shouted and played loud music outside his home around 4 a.m., waking neighbors. He was released with an appearance ticket for Village Court Thursday.
