A packed and noisy public meeting in Saranac Lake is highlighting deep divisions over a proposed battery energy storage system near Mount Pisgah. Residents, developers and energy advocates gathered at Mount Pisgah Lodge to debate the project planned at a National Grid substation on Trudeau Road. The system, proposed by Carson Power, would store electricity for later use, but many in the crowd voiced strong concerns while others pushed for the clean energy benefits.
