Rabid Bat Confirmed In Franklin County

Franklin County Public Health has confirmed the county’s first rabies case of the year after a bat found in Moira tested positive for the virus. Health officials are reminding residents to vaccinate pets and avoid contact with wild animals showing unusual behavior. Free rabies vaccination clinics for pets are scheduled through October.
Malone Golf Club Receives Major Donation

The Malone Golf Club has received a 105-thousand-dollar donation from the Malone Golf Future Foundation. Club officials say the money will be used for equipment upgrades and course improvements. The foundation says it supports youth golf programs and works to expand access to the sport throughout the Malone community.
Pollinator Festival Coming To Lake Placid

The Adirondack Pollinator Festival and Native Plant Sale returns to Lake Placid June 6th at the Uihlein Farm Greenhouse. Organizers say the event will feature more than 2,000 pollinator-friendly plants, family activities, educational workshops and conservation programs focused on protecting butterflies, bees and other pollinators. The festival runs from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Arizona Woman Arrested At Champlain Border Crossing

Federal officers say a 62 year old Arizona woman was arrested at the Champlain Port of Entry after allegedly illegally possessing a firearm while attempting to enter Canada. Customs officials say the woman admitted she had a handgun before being detained. She now faces felony weapons charges in New York.
