• Saranac River Rescue Saves Four

  Four people, including a baby, were rescued after becoming stranded in the swift current of the Saranac River in Plattsburgh. Firefighters say seven crew members used specialized swiftwater rescue equipment to safely bring three adults and the child back to shore. No injuries were reported.

• Clinton County Fair Opens July 13

  The Clinton County Fair returns to Morrisonville July 13th through the 18th with new rides, live entertainment, tractor pulls, a demolition derby and plenty of fair food. Highlights include Sea Lion Splash, 4-H and FFA competitions. Admission is free for children 12 and under.

• Clinton Community College To Celebrate 60 Years

  Clinton Community College will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a community event on August 15th in Plattsburgh. Residents, alumni and friends are invited to tour the new campus, enjoy family activities and reconnect with the college before an evening awards reception marking the milestone.

• Senior Farmers Market Coupons Available Thursday

  The Clinton County Office for the Aging will begin distributing 2026 Farmers Market Coupons on Thursday. The program helps eligible seniors purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and other locally grown foods from participating farmers markets while supporting local agriculture.

• SUNY Plattsburgh Expands Narcan Training

  SUNY Plattsburgh is expanding Narcan training for students, faculty and staff to help prevent overdose deaths. The university is partnering with the Alliance for Positive Health to teach participants how to administer the lifesaving medication and provide free Narcan kits. More than 130 Education Opportunity Program students will also receive training this summer.
