Two SUNY Potsdam professors have received a $411,477 National Science Foundation grant to study ancient sedimentary rocks in Atlantic Canada. Page Quinton and Michael Rygel will examine the chemistry and salinity of ancient waters preserved in rocks dating back hundreds of millions of years. The three-year project will include field work across Atlantic Canada and paid research opportunities for SUNY Potsdam students.
