‘Love Is Blind’ Contestant Files Class-Action Lawsuit Over Working Conditions

Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 8:00 PM

Stephen Richardson from Love Is Blind season 7 filed a class-action lawsuit Monday in California against Netflix and others, alleging labor violations and "inhumane working conditions." The suit seeks to represent contestants from seasons 6-9 who Richardson claims should be classified as employees rather than independent contractors. According to the filing, production companies controlled contestants' schedules and "exerted complete domination over their time, schedule, and their ability to eat, drink, and sleep, and communicate with the outside world during the period of employment." The lawsuit alleges contestants' identification, wallets, phones, and credit cards were confiscated, preventing them from leaving hotel quarters. Richardson claims production only provided alcoholic beverages while withholding water and food to manipulate decisions for entertainment value. (Story URL)
