Fitness enthusiasts are advised by experts to remove their rings before hitting the gym. Neil Ditta, a jewellery expert, warns that wearing rings during exercise can lead to a buildup of bacteria, sweat, and grime, potentially causing skin irritations or infections. Additionally, the constant gripping and friction from gym equipment can damage rings over time, especially those with softer gemstones. Exercise-induced swelling can also make ring removal difficult and increase the risk of ring avulsion injuries. High-intensity workouts like CrossFit and weightlifting pose a higher risk of ring damage. Ditta recommends leaving rings at home during such sessions to prevent accidents and preserve the jewelry's condition. (Dailymail)
