A growing number of young Americans are forgoing travel plans due to concerns about leaving their pets behind, as a new survey reveals 56% of pet owners travel less since getting a pet. Many cite an emotional bond that outweighs the appeal of vacation. 61% of respondents worry more about their pet's wellbeing than their own enjoyment while traveling. Over half said travel decisions are directly impacted by guilt or anxiety about leaving their pet. As a result, more than half plan trips around pet-friendly accommodations, 22% choose road trips to bring pets along, and 16% spend more on travel to avoid leaving their pets behind. Some even prioritize pets over partners, with 18% saying they'd rather vacation solo than leave their pet with a partner. According to Forbes, 66% of U.S. households, or 86.9 million homes, own a pet. (KTLA)
