Heart disease remains the top cause of death globally, but a recent study reveals a 66% decrease in overall heart disease death rates in American adults aged 25 and older over the past five decades. Specifically, deaths from heart attacks have dropped by nearly 90%. However, deaths from other heart diseases such as arrhythmia, heart failure, and hypertensive heart disease have increased by 81% in the United States. Factors contributing to this rise include obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, poor diet, and physical inactivity. The study emphasizes the importance of prevention from childhood to promote healthy aging and reduce heart disease. (Yahoo)
