Many Shoppers Embrace “Micro Gifting” Over Expensive Christmas Presents

Some consumers are abandoning expensive Christmas gifts for "micro gifting," choosing multiple smaller presents instead of single costly items. New research shows twenty-two percent plan to avoid buying anyone a pricey singular gift this year. The 2,000-adult study reveals shoppers prefer thoughtful, personal gifts while managing affordability and budgeting better. Thirty-nine percent say micro gifting is gaining popularity, especially among Gen Z according to 36 percent of respondents. Shoppers will buy an average of five presents per person, with the most popular micro gifts including chocolates, cozy socks, scented candles, bath salts, and hot chocolate sets. (Story URL)
