A new study suggests that eating two kiwis per day may benefit digestive health. Gastroenterologist Dr. Trisha Pasricha "prescribes" kiwis to her patients, noting they contain up to 8 grams of fiber and the enzyme actinidin, which aids protein digestion. A 2022 study found that two kiwis daily helped participants have more frequent and complete bowel movements, and alleviated abdominal pain, indigestion, and straining. Kiwis also contain vitamins, antioxidants, and may help prevent DNA breaks linked to cancer, according to other research. Pasricha says kiwis are even more effective than fiber supplements like psyllium husk. (Aol)
