Young Children Most Grateful For Family, Pets And Snack Foods

A new survey reveals what young children value most this holiday season. Talker Research polled 2,000 parents of children ages 0-6, asking them to record their kids' unfiltered responses about gratitude. Family topped the list, with responses like "my mommy and daddy" and siblings. Pets also ranked high, including "my kitty cat" and "my dog." Food preferences emerged prominently, from "chicken dino nuggets" to "potato chips and M&Ms" and "Cheetos." One child offered an extensive list: "everything in the entire world, except mosquitoes." The study found 95% of parents believe teaching thankfulness is important. Parents typically begin gratitude lessons around age 2, though 34% start by their child's first birthday. Most parents now prioritize experiences over physical gifts, a shift from their own upbringing. (Story URL)
