An Air Quality Advisory has been issued by the Department of Health and Environmental Conservation.
The health Advisory is due to smoke from wildfires in Canada and covers Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties as well as the Adirondack region. Exposure to fine particulate matter from the smoke can cause short-term health effects, such as irritation to the eyes, nose, and throat and shortness of breath. Exposure to elevated levels can also worsen medical conditions such as asthma and heart disease.
