While no credible threats exist the Governor has ordered protections put in place.
Governor Kathy Hochul says, counterterrorism protections have been put in place in New York following the U.S. strikes on three of Iran's nuclear facilities. Hochul said in a statement Sunday that while there is no specific or credible threat, New York has large Jewish and Muslim communities and that her top priority is the safety of New Yorkers. She noted that she's been in close contact with New York State Police, Homeland Security as well as counterterrorism and cybersecurity experts. Hochul added as a precaution, the MTA and Port Authority are partnering with local law enforcement and state troopers and will continue safety patrols outside houses of worship and other at-risk sites.
