Essex County Emergency Services has been awarded the 2026 EMS Gold Mission: Lifeline Achievement Award from the American Heart Association according to the county officials. They say to reach the gold level, the department maintained a 75% or higher adherence rate to strict performance metrics for the treatment of heart attacks and strokes, specifically focusing on rapid ECG acquisition and early hospital notification.
