The price of gas locally has inched up slightly as severe winter weather has disrupted gas supplies.
The winter weather that has wreaked havoc on the area and most of the nation has led to gas supply disruptions and pushed up the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline to $2.87 but it’s still well below last year’s $3.12 according to Triple-A. The below-freezing temperatures and lingering snow have disrupted some crude production and refinery operations, while gasoline demand increased pre-storm as drivers filled up their tanks ahead of the severe winter weather. Locally, Clinton County averages $2.86 a gallon for regular gas at the pump the Triple-A survey says.
